Itinerary for a Seven Day Rugby Tour for a School Team

Locations: Tbilisi and East Georgia (Kakheti region)

Arrival and departure: Arriving in Tbilisi from London Heathrow (TBA) (British Airways direct flight from London at 21.30 4 times a week arriving at 05.30 the next day)

Day 1

Team arrives from London, pick up and drive to hotel in Tbilisi

10.30-11.30 Late breakfast

11.30-17.00 Sightseeing Tour of Tbilisi: Cable car to Narikala Fortress, zip wire in the Botanical Gardens if interested. 

Introduction to old city and main city sites.

19.00 Tradtional Dinner and Entertainment (traditional music and dancing)

Day 2

09.00 Breakfast

10.00 Visit to Old Capital (Mskheta)

13.00 Lunch

14.00 Visit to Gori (Birthplace of Joseph  Stalin) and visit to the ancient cave town of Uplitsikhe 

18.00 Return to accommodation

20.00 Dinner and short interactive presentation by a veteran player, about Georgian rugby and its  history as part of Soviet Union and now as modern day team.

Day 3

09.00  Breakfast

10.00 Free Time

14.00 Go to stadium

15.00-17.00 Rugby Game

18.00 Return to accommodation  

20.00 Dinner    

Day 4

09.00 Breakfast

10.00 Travel to Telavi, capital of Kakheti

12.30 Lunch

16.00-17.30 Rugby Game against a local side

19.00 Traditional Dinner  

Day 5

08.00 Breakfast

09.00 Travel to Signaghi (Sightseeing en route)

12.30 Lunch

15.00 Sightseeing in Signaghi, Kakheti

17.00 Return to Tbilisi

20.00 Light dinner

Day 6

10.00 -18.00  White Water Rafting (Full day trip including lunch)

05.00 Leave to go to the airport for the flight back to London

What’s included in our customised proposals

• Required number of nights’ accommodation in a 3* hotel on a B & B basis (players will be in shared rooms unless otherwise requested)
• All local transport costs including group airport pick up and drop off (in Tbilisi) in an appropriate vehicle with an experienced driver
