QVEVRI WINE
Join us to find out more about the traditional “qvevri” wine-making technique in Georgia. This technique of fermenting the grapes in a clay vessel dates back over 8000 years. These days qvevris range in size from 100 -3500 litres – the biggest are large enough to climb inside- and this is how they are cleaned!
VINEYARDS
Kakheti is known as Georgia’s wine region. The broad Alazani Valley is full of vineyards and most families have an underground cellar and press their own grapes. Learn more about the wine-making process; if you visit in the autumn you can even get involved with the “rtveli” (grape harvest).

CHURCHKHELA MAKING
One of Georgia’s most well-known and one of the relatively few sweet dishes on the Georgian menu is the “churchkhela”. Made from walnuts or hazelnuts and coated in a mixture of grape juice and flour this traditional natural snack is popular with young and old!
